Founded in 2018, the Men’s Shed project in the West Sligo area has brought together men from all walks of life to build friendships, learn new skills, and improve their wellbeing. With two locations—Dromore West and Enniscrone—the Men’s Sheds are non-profit initiatives supported by the West Sligo Family Resource Centre. These sheds provide a safe space for men to engage in community activities, share knowledge, and enjoy each other’s company. Fundraising is essential to sustain and expand the sheds.
A Place to Learn, Share, and Connect.
The Men’s Shed project has seen great success in fostering a sense of camaraderie among men of all ages. Whether it’s working on woodworking projects, gardening, or simply enjoying a chat, the Men’s Shed provides a welcoming environment where participants can:
It’s more than just a workshop—it’s a community space where men come together to work on projects, express creativity, and support each other.
Meet like-minded individuals, form lasting friendships, and become part of a community.
Whether you’re retired, out of work, or have extra time to spare, the shed gives you a new purpose and direction.
Physical activity and social interaction at the shed improve mental and physical health. The activities provide a natural way to stay active and involved.
Use your existing skills and talents to teach others, while also learning new techniques and craftsmanship from fellow members.
Work on projects that have real-world utility—create practical items, furniture, and crafts that benefit both members and the community.
Enjoy an easy-going atmosphere where fun and laughter are encouraged along with the hard work.
